“REBIRTH” BY ADAM MCNAMARA

Hand-carved Wood Sculpture
33" x 18" x 11”

This intricate hand-carved wood sculpture elegantly captures the essence of growth and rebirth, intertwining the vitality of nature with the resilience of community. Its fluid lines depict harmonious coexistence, forming a symbol of shared flourishing and renewal. It encapsulates the enduring spirit of both nature and community, reminding us that even in loss, there's a seed of hope for a stronger, united future.

ABOUT THE WOOD:

This sculpture was created from a 300-year-old  fallen Ash tree that stood on the grounds of Adam's family church in Sackville, NS. This is not just any wood—it's a living archive. Contained within the rings of this tree are 300 years of this land's history, and the memories that come with it. The tree’s significance is magnified by its origin; rooted in a sacred space that has long been a cornerstone of the community. The tree, much like the community it comes from, represents a complex network of interdependent elements, bound by history and place. The sculpture captures this essence: it embodies the collective spirit of the forest, echoing the communal values that have been nurtured over generations. Owning this piece is not merely an aesthetic choice but a tribute to the tapestry of life and community that the tree represents. It stands as a tangible connection to the past and a compelling testament to the value of nurturing community and nature in a single, timeless piece.
